Patti Madden – Branlund
Patti co-founded Pacific States Communications in 1986.
At the beginning, she was primarily responsible for the warehouse, inventory and dispatch. But since then, Patti has been closely involved in every aspect of the business.
While her responsibilities as owner extend across the entire company, Patti focuses much of her attention on the creation and delivery of unsurpassed customer service.
Michael W. Buis
Chief Executive Officer
Michael brings 34 years of telecommunications experience to his role as chief executive officer of Pacific States. He became responsible for the company’s administration, operations and sales as CEO since 2006 after working in a sales position with the company for more than twenty-five years.
He earned undergraduate and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Purdue University and has earned sales and technical certifications from ShoreTel, NEC and Allworx.
Michael is an active volunteer in the Northern Nevada community. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Better Business Bureau of Northern Nevada, Chairman for the Reno Rodeo as well as the board of the Great Reno Balloon Race.
Director of Sales
Mike works with the Pacific States sales and operations teams to ensure an unsurpassed customer experience.
He joined the company six years ago, bringing deep experience in the development and management of sales and operations teams for a major technology manufacturer and as a partner in an office equipment dealership.
He is active in business organizations including The Chamber, the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada and WIN. He served as president of his Kiwanis Club and has been honored as Kiwanian of the Year.
Mike studied at California State University, Fullerton, and Orange Coast College.
Bryan just moved to the Operations Manager position after 27 years as a lead telecommunications and data technician.
Jon relies on more than two decades of experience as he assists clients to determine the best possible solutions for their data and telecommunications needs. Jon then works closely with the Pacific States engineering staff to design, implement and support the delivery of excellent solutions.
Before joining Pacific States, Jon was self-employed in the printer and copy business. He studied at UCLA and College of the Redwoods.
Jon is active in the spirit music program of Summit Christian Church.
As an account executive, Brianna is be responsible for developing long term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and challenges, staying current on the latest product offerings and ensuring clients of Pacific States are satisfied with equipment and service.
Brianna is an honors graduate form North Valley’s High School and is a member of Nevada’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology and Business Network International. She also attends Toastmasters and teaches yoga locally.
Project Design Manager
Ryan works closely with clients to deliver top-quality solutions on VOIP, key system, PBX and fiber-optic and cabling projects.
He joined Pacific States 17 years ago and worked as a senior technician before assuming sales responsibilities.
Ryan earned an associate’s degree in electronics from Truckee Meadows Community College, where he also worked as an instructor’s assistant. Ryan is presently working on his Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) Certification.
With more than 40 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Dave is the resident expert at Pacific States in handling clients’ needs for integrated voice and data infrastructure.
His philosophy is straightforward: The customer’s needs are primary. Meet or beat time constraints. Ensure that all jobs are done well.
Before joining Pacific States, Dave was in business for himself. His expertise includes radio communications, telemetry, fire alarm and security systems, video surveillance, digital control, acoustics, audio and video design, network cabling and fiber optics.
He has earned numerous consolidated certifications.
Lead Project Manager/Customer Service Representative
Nancy brings long experience in the telecommunications and data industry to her work at Pacific States, where she provides unmatched client satisfaction.
She has worked 20 years for Pacific States, and her career in the telecommunications industry has covered over 32 years. Before joining Pacific States, she worked for ROLM Corp. and IBM.
At Pacific States, Nancy is responsible for project management, end-user interface, training of customer end users and administrators and global customer care follow up.
Joseph brings extensive and deep experience to his role as a ShoreTel Connect Premise and Cloud trainer for client end users and administrators.
His years of technical training experience prepared him to excel work with ShoreTel.
Joseph also worked three years for Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center before joining Pacific States a year ago.
Patty has just join the PSC team to manage maintenance and support agreements, as well as back up dispatch. Prior to PSC Patty worked in the medical administration field.
Senior IT/Senior Technician
Scott serves clients of Pacific States as an IT and Telecommunications specialist. He s advanced certified in NEC, ShoreTel, and Allworx systems, as well as LAN, WAN, Adtran and HP systems. Scott has worked 19 years with Pacific States.
Chris provides highly professional installation and service of customer networks. He’s skilled and certified with ShoreTel, Allworx, SysAdmin, Cisco, Adtran, Cabling, Wireless Networks, Network engineering and system design.
Currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in computer science, Chris showed his dedication to excellence early in life when he earned recognition as an Eagle Scout.
Reed specializes in programming and installation of NEC, ShoreTel and AllWorX systems.
A member of the Pacific States team for 11 years, Reed has more than 21 years experience in the telecommunications industry. His previous experience includes work as a manager and technician with Unicom Communications.
Senior Cable/Fiber-Certified Technician
Jay specializes in installation of cable, fiber and equipment-room infrastructure.
He has worked 11 years for Pacific States and has more than 23 years experience in the telecommunications industry.
Before he joined Pacific States, Jay was the owner of an electrical company.
Office Manager / Accountant
Colette, an employee of Pacific States for five (5) years, is responsible for the company’s accounting functions, payroll and human resources.
A native of Northern Nevada, Colette earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
She has more than 25 years experience in accounting, data and financial analysis, payroll and human resource management.
Catherine provides invaluable assistance to the administration of Pacific States and ensures that records are readily available so that the company can quickly meet the needs of its customers.
She has worked 11 years with Pacific States. Previously, she held positions with Washoe Medical Center and Sierra Kids.
Project Manager/Telco Coordinator
Chrissie brings wide experience to her role as a manager for Pacific States. She is a consistent liaison between the client and Telco providers. She joined Pacific States seven (7) years ago after working 30 years with Nevada Bell, SBC and AT&T.
Larry puts nearly four decades of experience in telecommunications to work for the clients of Pacific States.
He came to the staff of Pacific States six years ago after working 30 years with Nevada Bell, SBC and AT&T
Steve has been with the company since early 2015. Steve started as a cabling technician. He took the opportunity as the warehouse manager when that position became available.
Pacific States Communications is unique in we still maintain a warehouse with inventory. In an “on-demand” order and receive world that has clients waiting, Steve ensures that Pacific States’ warehouse and service vehicles are properly stocked to quickly and efficiently meet the needs of customers.
As a Telecommunications Technician, Guy is responsible for installation, maintenance and repair of voice and data equipment.
Guy brings more than 30 years of industry experience working with AT&T, Panasonic and Samsung equipment to his new role with Pacific States. He grew up in a family telecom business earned an Associate’s degree in engineering from ITT Tech.
Guy is a veteran of the United States Army and served in Special Forces as an Army Ranger. He has also been in law enforcement and has volunteered as a medic for Search and Rescue, local fire departments, Red Cross, American Legion and the American Heart Association.
Lin’s goal during her 23 years of work at Pacific States has been simple: Providing unmatched client satisfaction.
She is responsible for project management, end-user interface, training of customer end users and administrators, and global customer care follow up.
Lin retired in February 2016 after 23 years of service.
